BACK TO BACK...
OLDHAM COUNTY COMPLETES DOMINANT RUN TO SECOND
CONSECUTIVE CHAMPIONSHIP!

FRIDAY MARCH 5th-OPENING ROUND
GAME A- (TRINITY) 1 vs. ( DUNBAR) 4
Trey Williams had 3 assists, Brad Joiner had a goal and two assists, and Caleb Clay had a pair of goals as #9 Dunbar
defeated #8 Trinity 4-1. Aaron Tenfelde stopped 31 of 32 shots for the win. Dunbar now faces #1 Oldham.
GAME B-(OWENSBORO) 3 vs. (FERN CREEK) 4
Tenth seeded Fern Creek got an opening round victory over #7 Owensboro. Four different players scored for the Creekers, who had Tyler Hardison turn away 21 of 24 shots for the win Fern Creek now faces #2 St. Xavier in the next round.
SATURDAY MARCH 6-QUARTERFINALS and SEMIFINALS
QUARTERFINALS
GAME C- ( DUNBAR) 0 vs. ( OLDHAM) 11
Robbie Hennessey had 3 goals and 5 assists, teammate Ted Brady hat a hat trick as well and Oldhaml stormed into the semifinals. Sal Olivet saved 16 shots fo the shutout.
GAME D-( EASTERN) 4 vs. ( LEXINGTON CATHOLIC) 3 (OT- SHOOTOUT)
The 4/5 (Eastern/Lex Cath) was the most exciting game of the day going into OT and then into a shoot out. Lex Cat. trailed 3 -1 going into the 3rd period and tied it up with 4:53 remaining in the 3rd. No goals were scored in the 5 on 5 OT. Eastern then got shootout goals from Omay Lyman and Jared Boos, coupled with back to back stops by goalie Blake Burger, to take the shootout 2-0, and the game 4-3.
GAME E-( HENRY CLAY) 5 vs. ( LAFAYETTE) 7
The 3/6 game between Henry Clay and Lafayette saw the Generals get out to a 5 - 1 lead, but only to have Henry Clay come back and tie it up 5 - 5 at the 7:20 mark of the 3rd. Lafayette would battle back and took the lead for good at 6 - 5 at the 2:09 mark of the 3rd and then followed it with an empty netter at 1:15.
GAME F- ( FERN CREEK) 1 vs. ( ST.XAVIER) 3
St. Xavier tied for fewest goals allowed in the league during the regular season and showed why putting the clamps on Fern Creek. All state goalie Nick Nuss was up to the task limiting the opposition to one goal, and Jack Porco tallied twice for the Tigers.
SEMIFINALS
OLDHAM 6 EASTERN 1
In the 1st semi-final, Oldham County continued it's winning ways with a 6 - 1 win over Eastern. Leading the charge with a hat trick was David Bechard. Two goals by Ted Brady and one by Robbie Hennessey, rounded off the scoring. The lone Eastern goal was scored by Omar Lyman.
LAFAYETTE 2 ST. XAVIER 1
In the lowest scoring game of the tournament,Lafayette defeated #2 seed St. X 2 -1. Lafayette goaltender Ryan Hoots fended off 23 shots and a flurry of scoring opportunities in the final minute as St. X had their goalie pulled for a 6 on 5 attack. The clock expired with a flurry of puck activity in the goal crease area, but when it all cleared, no puck had crossed the goal line and Lafayette emerged the winner.
SUNDAY MARCH 7-CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
OLDHAM 12 LAFAYETTE 1
OLDHAM finished its dominating run through the tournament by having EIGHT different players score goals, led by tournament MOST OUTSTANDING PLAYER Robbie Hennessey who had a hat trick and three assists. Goalie Sal Olivet only allowed two goals the entire tournament, and OLDHAM secures its second title, becoming only the second team to win back to back championships.
